
Our Story: A Taste of France in Chicago
La Boulangerie & Co was born from a simple idea: to bring the true taste and spirit of a French bakery to Chicago. Our founder, Vincent, a French expat with a deep love for tradition, and of course butter, missed the everyday pleasure of grabbing a warm croissant on the way to work or picking up a fresh baguette for dinner. So he set out to create a space where every detail matters: where the flour is imported from France, pastries baked fresh daily, and everyone feels welcome, whether you speak French or not.

From France to Chicago Ovens
It all started with Vincent baking beside his grandmother in the French countryside. After honing his craft in Paris, he brought his passion, and some secret family recipes, to Chicago in 2004. First came Cook Au Vin, offering French cooking classes and catering; then the first La Boulangerie opened in Logan Square in 2009. What began as a small bakery with one oven and lots of heart has grown into four neighborhood cafés across Chicago: Logan Square, Hyde Park, Humboldt Park, and Ravenswood, each with its own personality but sharing the same core values: quality above all, warm service, and a touch of French culture.
Baking With Authentic French Flour
At La Boulangerie & Co, authenticity is everything. We bake with 100% CRC-certified French wheat flour from Les Moulins Foricher, a family mill with generations of expertise. That means no additives, no shortcuts, just pure high-quality flour that makes our bread and pastries taste just like they do in France.
Combine that with Vincent’s savoir-faire and our team’s dedication, and voilà: crusty baguettes, buttery croissants, and classic French treats baked fresh daily.
Our Neighborhood Cafés
We’re proud to be a local bakery in Chicago with four cozy cafés: Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Ravenswood and Hyde Park.
Each one offers a welcoming vibe where you can sip locally roasted coffee, enjoy a buttery croissant, and take a breather from the city rush. Come by for breakfast, brunch, or a midday treat, whatever suits your day.

At our Logan Square and California locations, you can explore our curated selection of over 30 French wines: from the crisp whites of the Loire Valley to the robust reds of Bordeaux. Good news for our Hyde Park patrons: a wine selection will be arriving there soon!
