La Boulangerie is seeking a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Back of House Team Member to join our growing company. Our mission is to bring authentic French baking into everyday life. About the Role


As a Back of House Team Member, you will be the engine behind our daily operations. From opening the kitchen and executing orders throughout service to managing inventory and closing the kitchen to the highest sanitation standards, you will play a critical role in ensuring every dish that leaves our kitchen meets the La Boulangerie standard. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires focus, efficiency, and a genuine pride in your work.


Responsibilities


Kitchen Opening & Setup

  • Activate kitchen equipment and prepare all workstations for daily operations
  • Review the prep list at the start of each shift and complete priority items before opening
  • Set up cutting boards, utensils, and line components in their designated areas
  • Open the kitchen line for service on time, every shift
  • Receive and put away daily grocery and product deliveries accurately and efficiently


Production & Culinary Preparation

  • Prepare and cook food items accurately and efficiently according to company recipes and standards
  • Execute incoming orders seamlessly throughout service, maintaining speed and quality
  • Prepare side items including salads and other daily prep items as needed throughout the shift
  • Monitor ingredients for spoilage and apply strict food safety principles in all fridge and freezer spaces


Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor and restock kitchen inventory continuously to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Place accurate grocery, kitchen, and prep orders using designated ordering systems
  • Verify and sign off on incoming deliveries and ensure items are stored correctly by expiration date following FIFO standards


Kitchen Closing & Sanitation

  • Return all items to designated storage areas at the end of each shift
  • Clean and wipe down all surfaces, utensils, and grill equipment thoroughly
  • Sweep, remove all trash, and mop the kitchen area
  • Ensure all equipment and hood systems are safely and properly shut down
  • Maintain full accountability for overall kitchen sanitation compliance throughout the shift


Requirements


  • Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and company standards accurately and consistently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain speed and composure during high-traffic service periods
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and FIFO practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred


Physical Requirements


  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving throughout the kitchen
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to kitchen environment including heat, cold storage, and sanitation chemicals
  • Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays


Schedule


  • Part-Time or Full-Time — flexible depending on candidate availability
  • Rotating shifts
  • Monday through Sunday availability preferred
  • On-site


Pay


  • Starting at minimum wage, plus tips through shared tip pool
